As Catholics, we are blessed with so many ways to pray. We can adore our Lord in Eucharistic adoration, pray a rosary or divine mercy chaplet, pray a novena with a holy saint’s example in mind and walk with Christ during the stations of the cross. There are certainly more ways to pray than what I’ve mentioned, but one thing is certain: no matter how we pray and speak to Jesus, the most intimate thing we can do as Catholics is to worship Him and RECEIVE Him truly present in the Eucharist at every Mass.
Because of this, we do everything we can to create the most solemn and beautiful space for us to experience that precious moment. This is why we make our churches beautiful: to make visible and invisible reality. We use depictive paintings and sculptures, illustrious stained glass, precious metals and incense, scripture and movement, and of course, beautiful music! All these elements work to together to engage our mind, heart, and soul in the worship and ultimately to dispose us and prepare us for the awesome moment, to be received into Communion with the Living God.
The focus of this choir is to be open and humble so that God can minister to the congregation through our voices. The church gives us clear instruction and encouragement when it comes to the specific music that best serves the Mass, and we work very hard to sing this beautiful and challenging music.
For those of you blessed with the ability and time, we are inviting you to sing with us in the choir. If you’re interested, please reach out to [email protected].
